This doc sounds rad! The more we keep talking about perimenopause and women's midlife health the more of her ilk we'll generate I believe. I definitely can relate to everything Heather says here: the not feeling like myself, to the noticing skin changes, and also feeling like I'm just beginning as I enter my second act. Menopause can rock! Thanks for this sweet interview, Susan. Glad Substack has brought us together.
Nancy- I love how Substack has brought us together as well! ❤️ Like you, I also relate to everything Heather is saying, and I cannot wait to see how we can all rock this next stage of our lives into something meaningful and fulfilling. For the Gen Xers among us, her music analogy is a perfect example of how we are shifting the narrative, educating ourselves, and embracing this time as a new beginning. And having support from each other in person and online has made it easier to be curious about menopause instead of something to be disdained.
Mary - the sentiment is gladly reflected back! I am so glad to have found you as well. Each week I look forward to your posts. And happy you enjoyed the interview as well. Dr. Bartos is a gem; she truly understands what women are experiencing in midlife and beyond. A beacon of hope!

What an eye-opening interview. I wish she were my gyn! What a gift you are and how glad I am that I found you.
