No, sadly I don't know Gwyneth. But, I bet she's a good time and would definitely have the answer to a "pause" present....:)

Love the idea of a 'pause present! Will definitely be sharing that with the people in my life!

LOVE that single-pearl bracelet you made and the "diamond rain" necklace is most definitely swoon-worthy!!! One day. :)

Thank you! I love knotting pearls for fun, and I find it calming as well. Once I knotted a strand that was 48 inches long 😂

Beautiful jewelry! I don't wear a lot of jewelry but when I do it tends to be made out of raw materials like wood, stone, bone, leather, insect wings. I like the idea of a 'Pause Present' but a different meaning came to mind as soon as I read the title. Gift giving comes with some baggage for me. I like giving but receiving isn't my love language. The gift I'm giving myself these days could be a play on the words 'Pause Present. More than anything, I want to pause and be present through my transition. I'll accept gladly all the wonky changes of midlife as long as I can receive the gifts of pausing and staying present most of the time. Getting better with practice!

Yes to the 'pause gift! If we are going to celebrate this rite-of-passage with a party, then a gift is a very sensible idea.

I enjoyed hearing about your path into metalsmithing. I have a friend who does lost wax cast as well. So cool!

I played around with wire wrapped jewelry for a few years. It was very therapeutic.

After my last move 2 years ago, I gave all of my boxes of tools, beads, and wire away.

Ive been floating without a hobby in no-mans-land.

But this week I have an urge to put in some garden boxes and for the 7th time, start a garden from scratch.

Metalsmithing was so fun! I did a lot of angle raising and hollow ware along with utensils in addition to making jewelry. Wrapping wire can be fun but frustrating; if the wire kinks, it can ruin the look of the piece. And I share a love for dirt therapy as well; my garden is one of the places I like to spend a lot of time in before it gets crazy hot! Can't wait to hear what you plant from scratch 😍
